Blasphemy Is Not a Crime is a human rights movement born out of a simple truth: no one should be threatened, imprisoned, attacked, or killed for their thoughts, doubts, or beliefs.
In Pakistan, blasphemy laws have become weapons — used to silence dissent, persecute minorities, and justify mob lynchings. A mere accusation can destroy lives. Too many have been killed in the name of protecting religion. We say: enough.
We represent ex-Muslims, humanists, secularists, and allies who believe in the universal right to freedom of expression, freedom of conscience, and the right to life — no matter one’s faith, belief, or disbelief. Our work is grounded in the principles of justice, secularism, and human dignity.
What We Do
- Expose the dangers of blasphemy laws and document their human cost.
- Stand in solidarity with the accused, the exiled, and the silenced.
- Advocate for legal reforms to abolish blasphemy laws and end religiously-motivated violence.
- Amplify the voices of survivors, freethinkers, and human rights defenders.
- Educate the public on the intersection of authoritarianism, theocracy, and freedom.
Our Vision
We envision a Pakistan — and a world — where ideas are not policed, where questioning is not a crime, and where no one lives in fear for exercising their basic rights.
We are not anti-religion. We are anti-violence, anti-persecution, and pro-human rights.
This movement is a platform for those who have been told to stay silent. It is a call for justice. And it is a reminder that freedom must never be punished.
